My name is Parker, and I’m a lovable pup full of snuggles, kisses, playfulness, and curiosity. I’m a smart 3-year-old, 50-pound Pitty mix who has been living with a loving family for the past few months, but I’m in need of a forever home with no cats. I love to play with my toys, especially ones that are squeaky or jingly. I’m great at playing fetch and like to play with my favorite sticks or my squeaky tennis ball. I also like to chew on my bones, and I know not to chew on things that aren’t mine. When I play with other dogs, I love to wrestle with them and to chase them. I would do well in a home with another dog who likes to wrestle, but I could also be the only dog in a home with humans who can make time for play. I’m fully house trained and will let you know when I need to go out. Sometimes when I go out, I get distracted by all the sights and smells and forget to do my business, then I have to go out again. If my humans go out with me, they remind me why I’m there and I do my business after plenty of sniffing to find just the right spot. I love being outside with my humans or other dogs. I love to run and I’m really fast. When I can’t run outside, I get my running energy out inside, so I’d be a good fit for someone with a fenced yard where I can run in a safe space. I don’t have much experience with dog parks, so my humans can’t say too much about how I would do there with other dogs I don’t know. I’m learning how to walk on a leash and my humans say I’m doing better, but there’s so much to see and smell that sometimes it can be hard to focus. I know my name really well, I’m already pretty good about coming when I’m called, I’m getting better at responding to “sit”, and I do a good job of dropping things I have in my mouth when asked. My humans tell me that not everyone wants me to jump up and give them kisses (which I find hard to believe), so I’m working on being better at this, too. I’m not super treat-motivated, but I’m very eager to please and would benefit from ongoing training. I love people and my humans say I’m great with kids, but they haven’t seen me interact with kids younger than 6. I can be bouncy when I play and I’m not always mindful of my surroundings, so small kids should be careful that I don’t accidentally knock them over. When I’m not playing, I love to snuggle on the sofa with my humans, get my belly rubbed, or even sit on their laps. I also like to follow them as they do things around the house just in case they need my help. I’m great at picking up scraps that fall on the floor in the kitchen, and I shouldn’t be left with unattended food since I’ll quickly eat things that aren’t meant for me. I sleep in my very own bed where I snuggle with my blanket. Sometimes I also like to snuggle with the other dog or with a pillow on the sofa. I would happily sleep in bed with humans if I’m allowed. I sleep throughout the night, and my humans say that I snore. I’m crate trained and will go into my crate nicely when asked, and I like it when I can bring my blanket with me. I do pretty well at getting a bath and having my ears cleaned, but I do *not* like having my nails trimmed. My vet gave me some medicine and taught my humans some tips to help me get my nails trimmed, but sometimes I get my nails trimmed by the vet instead. I’m neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my shots. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
