Hi, I'm Jax! I am 6 months old and a little guy at about 13 lbs. I am said to be an Italian Greyhound mix and my foster mom is pretty sure, I have Jack Russell in me, as well. The description of a Jack Russell fits me to a tee! There is no guarantee of what my exact breed is though. I am a big ball of energy, which is expected for a puppy. My breed mix adds to that energy making me even more of a high-energy pup. Due to my high energy, I would do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can run around as often as possible. A few walks in a day will not burn that energy I have. I sit at the back door just waiting to go out, about every hour just so I can run around in the backyard. If I don't get that chance to burn that energy I have, it could lead to getting into some trouble in the house and causing some destruction. I am a big jumper and can jump about 3 feet straight up in the air, this also allows me to jump any lower fences and baby gates in the house. I often show off my jumping skills by jumping from 6 feet away over the couch back and forth. I love my furry foster sibling, who happens to be about my size. We play, wrestle, and chase each other in the backyard. We even snuggle at night on the couch together. I would love to have another dog in the home to play with. I am very fearful of the shepherd in the house though, and don't like her coming near me. I am a very smart, yet stubborn little guy. I can understand what is wanted from me, but I do make the decision to listen or not at times. I would do great in some training classes. I am very food and treat motivated. When my foster mom lets me in the house, I go right over to that treat jar and wait until she hands one over to me. I get so excited when I am waiting that I jump straight up in the air over and over again. I tend to forget she wants me to sit, but I will eventually do it. We are continuously working on that. I am also working on my crate training which I am doing good on, but still have an occasional accident. I do sleep in my crate and will cry and bark when the morning comes to be let out. I will let you know when I have to go out by going to the back door but it usually means I need to go asap, as within a short amount of time, or I will go right in that spot if you are not quick enough. I tend to be a one-person kind of dog and have attached myself mainly to my foster mom here. I seem to like women more than men. I do enjoy playing with other people, but I tend to gravitate to her and don't always want others coming over to pet me. I will growl and give a warning to let them know, I don't want to be bothered. Due to this behavior, I would need to be in a home with older dog-savvy children or adults only. I do love to snuggle my foster mom by resting my head on her shoulder and letting her hold me. I am a fun little guy who loves to play with my toys and would be great for the right person who is very active, can give me a lot of attention and will give me time to settle in.
