2016 was a very difficult year for us. We lost 2 dogs in less than a 9 month period. One passed at 14 1/2 due to old age related issues. The other was one month shy of 10 years. It was very unexpected and we had to put him down due to an intestinal growth. He was diabetic and stopped eating. No food meant no insulin shots.
I never thought I would open my heart to another dog, I felt so much pain and never thought I would ever heal, until I saw Captain’s picture on your website. It was as if he spoke to me and he made me smile. Within 24 hours of seeing his picture, we met. The moment I saw him across the room, I knew he was coming home with us.
It has been 2.5 months and we are very happy. Nikko has helped me begin the healing process and has put joy back into a home that was very sad. I will never forget my beloved boys. My heart is filled with love for Nikko and I have found joy again being a dog owner.
