Major

Major is a 2-3 year old Collie/Lab mix at about 75lbs and an ABSOLUTE cuddle bug! Friendly with other dogs & wants to greet everyone he meets on a walk! Would love to have another dog playmate, because he loves going to the dog park and making new friends. He LOVES going for walks and walks pretty well on a leash for such a big dog. He knows a lot of basic commands - he is extremely smart & food motivated. Knows SIT, STAY & DOWN and just wants to please his owner. Loves to travel in the car as long as he can pop his head out the window and breathe the fresh air. He does have a little separation anxiety which has gotten much better since he’s been in foster care. So he would do best in a home where someone works from home or is home a majority of the time. Major can run fast and is very strong so a fenced yard would be best. He is house-trained and sleeps on a dog bed at night in his masters bedroom and rarely says a word unless he sees a squirrel outside the window. Major wants to be around his people at all times and will happily trot all over the house with you during the day. He is really a great dog who just wants to make his owner happy at all times. He was kept as an outside dog down in Southern IN on a farm. You could tell that he had not lived in a house at all or even knows how to play with dog toys like a regular dog but he is starting to play with toys and acts like a dog more and more each day that he’s been in foster care. He is not a chewer, does not destroy things around the house so he doesn’t need to be kept in a crate because that will just cause more anxiety.
