Meet Bilbo, he's an approx. 7-9 year old long hair chihuahua, may even have some doxi in him. A big majority of rescue dogs come with a sad story and he's not the exception. We really don't know the full story but believe his previous owner passed away. He also had a dog friend that we were told also passed away. Bilbo was then taken by someone living on the streets so he didn't have the best or stable environment. This person said he was told Bilbo was 11 but our vet said no way, he's only about 5-7. I think they may be a little short so we go with 7-9. He's still very active yet likes to nap frequently on a soft bed or blanket anywhere he can find. He still likes toys and usually is found walking around with a toy in his mouth. I believe he was treated harshly by a male most likely when he was with the homeless person as he will bark at my husband. He's gotten better and has never shown aggression or tried to bite. I had multiple males at my house for Christmas and he was fine soliciting for food and actually let my son in law hold him. He has been ok with my dogs; only once or twice an issue but was not anything severe. He does not like the puppies I have here right now; guess they are just too much for him. Bilbo loves me and follows me everywhere. He snuggles next to me and is a great little companion for the right home. I don't want to see him passed around anymore. So with all that said, a female home or with a patient male and him being the only dog will be the best situation for him to be happy. He really can be a little sweetheart. Bilbo has been neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. If you think this little guy would be a good match for you please call Jody at 708 268-6965. We know there are several obstacles hindering him so we have reduced his adoption fee to $150.00 for the right person. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
