Aspen is an approximately 3 year old, over 50lb, German shepherd/Husky mix. Aspen was found as a stray in southern Indiana before being brought up north by Rover Rescue.
So far, her foster family has observed the following:
Aspen seems to have the restless GSD energy but rides well in the car observing everything through the windshield of the passenger side. She must have been in a house earlier in her life because she found the master bed straight away, jumping right in and had no trouble climbing the stairs up to the 2nd floor. She’s great with other dogs and likes to play. At her first Rover event, one of the other dogs snapped at her and Aspen just turned away. Aspen has discovered the joys of Andy’s Custard (only the vanilla custard and not the cone) and goat horns. She’s also started to steal shoes and chew on books. Currently, she’s about 90% house trained.
Aspen is underweight for her size and should weigh at least 60lbs.
No cats, rodents or very young children for Aspen. She’s got a high prey drive and tried to bite a Chinchilla through the glass at PetsMart and she’s anxious about the quick movements/running of young children. Her foster family thinks it’s the herding instinct kicking in.
Aspen is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you would like to meet this dog please call Margrit at 630-267-6139. The adoption fee is $225.
