Hi I am Harry Potter. I am a 1.5 year old hound mix. I currently weigh in at 47 pounds, but definitely need to add some pounds. Just like the fictional Harry Potter I started life out rough. I was kept on a chain in a back yard at my first house. I was eventually surrendered to the shelter, where I was for several months. Thankfully Rover Rescue saw me and decided I could join one of the fosters homes here. I am settling in nicely.

I can be dog selective. I did meet several dogs at the shelter, but some of them took multiple meetings to become friends. I seem to do better with smaller dogs and more submissive dogs. I get along with my current foster siblings who are about 1/2 my size. I can be a little possessive of toys, food, and bones with other dogs. (I have shown no food aggression towards people). I absolutely love people! I have not met a stranger. I will snuggle on the couch with you and give you kisses. Sometimes I can be very demanding about getting attention. I think I am more important than your phone or video games. I did live with a child in my first home. I have done well with kids at adoption events as well.

I do well on walks. Sometimes I pull a bit if I see a person, dog, or squirrel. I do better when passing dogs on the other side of the street, I can get reactive if they are close. I love to use my hound nose and sniff everything! I am not so much a fan of car rides. I tend to drool quite a bit, and on longer trips I have gotten sick. Foster mom is going to try some meds to see if they help. I am doing well in the house. I seem to be pretty quiet in my crate while foster mom is gone as long as I get a kong with peanut butter. I have not had any accidents in the house. Sometimes I get confused on what is a toy and what isn’t but have not been super destructive. I do try and counter surf. Because I am a bit on the thin side I like to try and get whatever I can get my paws on. I really am a very good boy. I am looking for a home of my own. Please give me a chance.
