Brutus is a 6 year old Chihuahua mix that is TERRIFIED and has never been properly socialized. Brutus came from a hoarding situation and apparently has lived in a crate most of his life. He is terrified of everything and will only come out of his crate to eat and potty on pee pads when he is sure no one else is around. He is not housetrained, will not walk on a leash, and will run away if given the chance. He does not interact with toys, other dogs or people. Brutus will let you pick him up, but is clearly uncomfortable and afraid as he shakes and attempts to burrow his way out by hiding his head under your arm. Once he finds an opportunity to get out of your arms, he will run frantically trying to find a safe spot to hide or an open crate to retreat to. Brutus is a work in progress and will be very slow to socialize and interact with anyone, so for this reason he will require a patient adopter willing to work with him and a quiet household with no children under 12. Specialized, in home, one- on -one training would be beneficial to help Brutus overcome his fears. Anyone wishing to adopt Brutus must realize that winning his confidence and trust is not an overnight process and will require a very lengthy period of time. Brutus is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on his shots.
