"Please, sir, I want some more." More loving, that is! Yes, my name is Oliver and I am quite fond of attention. I was found as a stray dog in Southern Indiana so there is not a lot of background information to share. However, the shelter workers fell in love with my sweet disposition. When a foster home with Rover Rescue had an opening, my guardian angels made sure I got a chance to head north. My foster family is sure glad they did! They think I was solely an outside resident. I was quite intimated by indoor living, but that changed quite quickly! I love being an inside dog. I am still working on some manners, but I so want to please. The vet thinks that I am between 6-8 years old. However, I am acting much younger now that my life is not full of hardships. My foster mom thinks that I am re-living my puppyhood. I will get the zoomies, keep up just fine on 3 mile walks and will jump up when I get excited. I can also get into mischief if left unattended. I have remnants of a phone charger that needed my attention. The shelter listed me as a Beagle Mix. I think of myself more as a Houndatriever. For those of you not familiar with this rare breed, it is a cross between a Hound and Black Labrador Retriever. If you think that Labs are really noisy, the only time I sing the song of my people is when the fire trucks or police alarm their sirens. I think they need my help with the alerts. I am a good mid-size pooch, weighing in around 48 pounds. I do like to eat and don't recommend you leave goodies unattended. My tummy will get the best of me and I will counter-surf if given the chance. When I first arrived in Illinois, I was not neutered. I did mark my territory, even inside, which did not make my foster mom very happy. Now that I have had surgery, I no longer need to leave my trace. I am housebroken and am crate trained. I stay in my crate when my foster family is away from the house. I am very quiet and do not voice any displeasure. I have earned the privilege of sleeping in the master bedroom. I may come up on the bed to get a few snuggles, but sleep on a dog bed at the foot of the bed. I get along well with other dogs. I am very submissive and enjoy playing, but my all time favorite thing is getting human loving. I have to warn you, I don't believe in personal space. The closer I can get, the better. I love to give kisses also. I am just the sweetest guy you will meet. If you would like to hear more about me, OLIVER, please contact my foster mom at 630-406-9405. She would love to tell you all about me! My adoption fee is $225.
