Peanut is a 2 year vizsla mix. A loving, patient, permanent home is the only requirements that Peanut is looking for. She has had a hard life, as we don’t know entirely what happened before we found her stranded, abandoned out in the cold. We do know that she was skin and bones and still eats like she’s never going to eat again. She requires a slow feeder bowl so she doesn’t over eat too quickly and make herself sick. Peanut needs a home where she can bond with the primary person who will be with her. She will bond with the others in the household, after a while, as long as they show that they will always be there for her. She is very afraid of being alone. Another canine may help ease this separation anxiety. Unfortunately, she was returned to Rover Rescue, because she acted as the alpha to the smaller dogs of the adoptive household. The current foster home has a bigger non-dominant dog who she gets along with seamlessly and looks up to when the human fosters leave. Peanut does not like to potty on a leash, so she needs a fenced yard. The current foster home doesn’t have a fenced yard, so walking her doesn’t always produce anything but anxiety from leaving the house. She prefers to not be in a crate and this will be something an adoptive family will have to continue to work on. This dog is altered and up to date on shots. If you would like to meet this dog please call Sarah at 630-659-5934. The adoption fee is $225.
