“Mimi”

Puggle

Medium Adult Female

What You Want to Know

Despite her age (3 years old), Mimi has very puppy-like behavior.  She LOVES going for car rides(quietly absorbing everything going on around her) and walks.  Mimi does pull on the leash but is currently learning better behavior.  She knows how to “sit” and give a “kiss”.  Mimi has not had an accident in the house and will whimper when she needs to go out or come in.  She is a superb watch dog but has a high prey drive, so will bark at squirrels, perceived squirrels and is very cat aggressive.  Despite a big dog attitude in her knee-high body, Mimi is scared of thunderstorms and will paste herself against her human during violent storms.

Mimi has learned how to play chase with her canine foster sister and can run so fast in larger yards that her feet are a blur.  Mimi gets along well with her current canine foster sisters but is picky about the canines that she does like.  She seems to instantly like larger, younger male dogs or male puppies (a 9 month old pit/lab mix, two 6 week old puppies and a 4 month old German shepherd) but other dogs take about 3 visits before Mimi is comfortable enough to play.  Mimi wants all human affection for herself and will go to great lengths to get it.

True to her part beagle heritage, Mimi vocalizes with an enthusiastic ARRROOOOO when she greets her humans in the morning, upon her foster mother’s return from work, and when all dogs are inside for the night, according to schedule.  She also runs if given the opportunity, so a fenced yard is a must.

Mimi is very people oriented, likes children, and would do best in a home that can lavish the attention on her that she craves and continue with basic dog training classes.  Mimi would make an excellent canine work partner.  She is crate trained, but she can also be left uncrated at home with tolerant canine companionship.  Mimi’s adoption fee is $200.  To meet her, please call Margrit at 630.820.1584.
