What You Want to Know

I guess you can call me a little fruity.  That is because I am named after a sweet slice of paradise.  I am CHIQUITA.  Just like the healthy food that my name is associated with, everyone loves me!   I mean who can resist a little delight like me!  I am a 2 year old Chihuahua that weighs a delicate 5 pounds.   No, I am not yellow, but instead white with a tan spot in the middle of the top of my head.  And, no it is not a bruise.  So I was not born in the warm tropics, but in Southern Indiana.  Somehow, I became a stray pup in a bad place called a high kill shelter.  Thank goodness, I had wonderful people realize what a treat I really am and advocate for me.  Next thing I know, I am on the road north with Rover Rescue.  My new foster home cannot believe that no one came to save me from the shelter.  They think I am darn near perfect in every way!  I have a very pleasant disposition and I love people of all ages.  I absolutely adore attention and being held is my favorite thing in the world!  But due to my tiny size, I should not be in a household with children under the age of 5.  Sometimes those young ones do not realize how fragile little dogs like me can be.   I get along great with other dogs and I even like cats!  I am housebroken – Yeah! and crate trained also.  But I do not spend much time in my crate because my foster family indulges me and lets me sleep under the covers in the big bed!  I definitely do not have the negative characteristics that are accompanied with small dogs.  I am not hyper, but actually very low key.  I am not yippy or whiny, but a very quiet girl.  I would never dream of being nippy.   Even though I do like to be carried, I enjoy going for walks and am leash trained.  I enjoy car rides, especially short jaunts to the grocery store.  I am a little particular about my food right now and will only eat soft food at this time.  My foster family is trying to coax me to eat small bite kibble, but there is something to be said about comfort food.  If you would like more details, please call Teri at 630-897-7454.  I promise once you meet me, CHIQUITA, you will love me bunches and vice versa!  The adoption fee for CHIQUITA is $200.
